Privacy policy
How slotrave.casino handles the personal information of readers in Canada
This page explains what personal information we collect when you visit the site, why we need it, how long we keep it and what rights you have under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). We don’t require registration, and we don’t use any analytics or advertising tools.
Who is responsible for your data
The organization responsible for your personal information is the operator of slotrave.casino (the “site”) — in other words, “we”. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it and who we may share it with. We follow PIPEDA and its fair information principles; where a provincial privacy law applies and gives you stronger protection, we comply with it as well.
The site is an independent information project about the Slotrave online casino — it is not the casino. You cannot open a player account, deposit money or place bets with us, and we do not verify your identity. All of that is handled by the casino operator, a separate organization that is responsible for the information you give it under its own privacy policy. If you have any questions about that policy, write to support@slotrave.com.
What information we collect
We collect only the information we strictly need. Either you give it to us yourself, or your browser sends it automatically:
- technical information that your browser sends when a page loads (IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, browser language, the page you came from, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit); the server may store this information in its operational logs;
- information you send us yourself by email (your email address, your name if you provide it, and the content of your message).
We never ask you for sensitive information, payment details or identity documents. The site does not require registration — you can read it without telling us anything about yourself.
Purposes and consent
PIPEDA lets us collect and use personal information only for purposes that a reasonable person would consider appropriate in the circumstances. Here is what we use it for and what we rely on:
- running the site and keeping it secure, for example protecting it against attacks and malicious automated traffic — your implied consent, as no website can be shown to you without this technical information;
- replying to the emails you send us — your implied consent, given when you write to us;
- complying with our legal obligations — where the law requires it, PIPEDA allows this without your consent.
We do not use any analytics or advertising tools. We do not sell your information to anyone, we do not send you marketing emails, and we do not use your information for profiling or automated decisions about you.
Cookies and browser storage
The site does not set any cookies. It stores only two technical entries in your browser’s local storage (localStorage): “nv-cookie” remembers that you have acknowledged the cookie banner, and “nv-mini” remembers whether you have collapsed the side menu on a computer. Both stay on your device, are never sent to our server and cannot be used to identify you. For details and instructions on how to delete them, see our Cookie policy.
Sharing and transfers outside Canada
Apart from us, only the service providers who host the site and handle its technical administration have access to the technical information — under a contract and strictly on our instructions. We do not share information with third parties for their own marketing. Where required by law, we may disclose information to public authorities.
The site loads its fonts, images and scripts from its own server, so your IP address is not passed to external content providers while you read our pages. Our service providers may store or process information outside Canada. In that case, we remain responsible for it and use contracts to ensure it is protected to a standard comparable to Canadian law; please note, however, that information held in another country may be accessible to the courts and authorities there. On request, we will tell you more about how this applies in your case.
When you click a link to the Slotrave casino or another external website, you leave slotrave.casino. Links to the casino are affiliate links and may pass through a redirect server that records that you came from us. From that point on, the operator of the website concerned handles your information under its own policy.
How long we keep your information
We keep information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above, unless the law requires a longer period:
- server logs — for no more than 12 months;
- email correspondence — until we have dealt with your inquiry, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case we need to come back to the matter;
- localStorage entries — these remain only in your browser until you delete them (see our Cookie policy).
Once these periods have expired, we delete the information or irreversibly anonymize it.
Security safeguards
We take security seriously: connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS), only a few authorized people have access to correspondence, we collect only the minimum of information necessary and the site runs on reliable hosting. These technical and organizational safeguards protect information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use or disclosure.
If a breach of security safeguards involving your personal information creates a real risk of significant harm to you, we will report it to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and notify you as soon as feasible. As PIPEDA requires, we also keep a record of every breach of security safeguards.
Your rights
PIPEDA gives you the following rights, and exercising them is free of charge:
- the right to know whether we hold personal information about you;
- the right of access to that information and to a copy of it;
- the right to be told how your information has been used and to whom it has been disclosed;
- the right to challenge the accuracy and completeness of your information and have it corrected;
- the right to know why we collect your information, and to have it used only for those purposes unless you agree otherwise or the law allows it;
- the right to have information we no longer need destroyed, erased or made anonymous;
- the right to withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
You can exercise your rights by emailing support@slotrave.com. Please include enough information for us to match your request to the right records — for example, the email address you wrote to us from. We will reply within 30 days; if we need more time, we may extend this by up to 30 more days, in which case we will let you know.
Complaints
If you feel we are not handling your information properly, please write to us first at support@slotrave.com — we will try to put things right quickly. You also have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC), which oversees compliance with PIPEDA.
Underage visitors
The site and the gambling it covers are only for people of legal gambling age — 19+ (18+ in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec). We therefore do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under that age. If an underage visitor nevertheless sends us information, we will delete it without delay as soon as we become aware of it; a parent or legal guardian can also alert us at support@slotrave.com. Our responsible gambling section explains how to play responsibly and where to find help.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy if the law, guidance from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the way the site works changes. The current version is always available here, with the date of the last update at the top of the page.
