How slotrave.casino handles its New Zealand readers’ information

This page explains what personal information we collect when you visit the site, why we need it, how long we keep it and what rights you have under the Privacy Act 2020. We don’t require registration, and we don’t use any analytics or advertising tools.

1

Who is responsible for your information

The operator of slotrave.casino (the “site”) – in other words, “we” – is responsible for your personal information. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, how long we keep it and who we may share it with. We handle personal information in line with New Zealand’s Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles, which are overseen by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. We also apply the standards of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – and where the two sets of rules differ, we follow the one that gives you stronger protection.

The site is an independent information project about the Slotrave online casino – it is not the casino. You cannot open a player account, deposit money or place bets with us, and we do not verify your identity. All of that is handled by the casino operator, a separate organisation that deals with the information you give it under its own privacy policy. If you have any questions about that policy, write to support@slotrave.com.

What information we collect

We collect only the information we strictly need. Either you give it to us yourself, or your browser sends it automatically:

  • technical information that your browser sends when a page loads (IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device type, browser language, the page you came from, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit); the server may store this information in its operational logs;
  • information you send us yourself by email (your email address, your name if you provide it, and the content of your message).

We do not ask you for sensitive information (such as details of your health, beliefs or ethnicity), payment details or identity documents. The site does not require registration – you can read it without telling us anything about yourself.

3

Why we collect it

Under information privacy principle 1, we collect personal information only for lawful purposes connected with running the site, and only when we need it for those purposes:

  • running the site and keeping it secure, for example protecting it against attacks and malicious automated traffic;
  • handling the emails you send us, so that we can reply to you;
  • complying with our legal obligations.

We do not use any analytics or advertising tools. We do not sell your information to anyone, we do not send you marketing emails, and we do not use it to build a profile of you or to make automated decisions about you.

4

Cookies and browser storage

The site does not set any cookies. It stores only two technical entries in your browser’s local storage (localStorage): “nv-cookie” remembers that you have acknowledged the cookie banner, and “nv-mini” remembers whether you have collapsed the side menu on a computer. Both stay on your device, are never sent to our server and cannot be used to identify you. For details and instructions on how to delete them, see our Cookie policy.

5

Who can see your information

Apart from us, only the service providers who host and maintain the site have access to the technical information – under a contract and strictly on our instructions. We do not share information with third parties for their own marketing. Where required by law, we may disclose information to public authorities.

The site loads its fonts, images and scripts from its own server, so your IP address is not passed to external content providers while you read our pages. Where our service providers handle information outside New Zealand, we make sure it is protected by safeguards comparable to those of the Privacy Act 2020. On request, we will tell you which safeguard applies in your case.

When you click a link to the Slotrave casino or another external website, you leave slotrave.casino. Links to the casino are affiliate links and may pass through a redirect server that records that you came from us. From that point on, the operator of the website concerned handles your information under its own policy.

6

How long we keep your information

In line with information privacy principle 9, we keep information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described above, unless the law requires a longer period:

  • server logs – for no more than 12 months;
  • email correspondence – until we have dealt with your enquiry, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case we need to come back to the matter;
  • localStorage entries – these remain only in your browser until you delete them (see our Cookie policy).

Once these periods have expired, we delete the information or anonymise it irreversibly.

7

Data security

We take security seriously: connections to the site are encrypted (HTTPS), only a few authorised people have access to correspondence, we collect only the minimum of information necessary and the site runs on reliable hosting. These technical and organisational safeguards protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access, as information privacy principle 5 requires.

If a privacy breach occurs that has caused or is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the Privacy Commissioner and the people affected as soon as practicable after becoming aware of it, as the Privacy Act 2020 requires.

8

Your rights

The Privacy Act 2020 and its information privacy principles give you the following rights, and we don’t charge you for exercising them:

  • the right to ask whether we hold personal information about you and to get access to it (information privacy principle 6);
  • the right to ask us to correct information about you that is wrong (information privacy principle 7);
  • the right to have a statement of the correction you asked for attached to the information if we decide not to change it (information privacy principle 7);
  • the right to know why we collect your information and who may receive it (information privacy principle 3);
  • the right to have your information stored securely and not held for longer than we need it (information privacy principles 5 and 9);
  • the right to have your information used and disclosed only for the purposes it was collected for, unless the Act allows an exception (information privacy principles 10 and 11);
  • the right to complain to the Privacy Commissioner if you believe we have interfered with your privacy (see “Complaints” below).

You can exercise your rights by emailing support@slotrave.com. Please include enough information for us to match your request to the right records – for example, the email address you wrote to us from. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can, and no later than 20 working days after we receive your request; if we need more time, we will let you know within that period.

9

Complaints

If you feel we are not handling your information properly, please write to us first at support@slotrave.com – we will try to put things right quickly. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you have the right to complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, the independent authority that oversees privacy in New Zealand.

10

Minors

The site and the gambling it covers are for adults only – you must be at least 18 years old. We therefore do not knowingly collect personal information about anyone under 18. If a minor nevertheless sends us information, we will delete it without delay as soon as we become aware of it; a parent or legal guardian can also alert us at support@slotrave.com. Our responsible gambling section explains how to play responsibly and where to find help.

11

Updates to this policy

We may update this policy if the law, guidance from the Privacy Commissioner or the way the site works changes. The current version is always available here, with the date of the last update at the top of the page.
